"Nate and Hayes", 1983, Starring Tommy Lee Jones, Michael O'Keefe, Jennie Seagrove and Max Phipps. Based upon the true story of South Pacific pirate Bully Hayes, the movie's story is mostly told through a series of flashbacks after Jones has been placed in prison preceded by an action filled escape attempt. The film is in the great pirate movie tradition but also remains within the actual context of Islands history when Germany still had major island possessions in the Pacific.
